Explore the Grand Valley

Make the most of your time in Grand Junction by experiencing a little more of what makes Western Colorado so special.

Our optional conference excursions are designed to give attendees a taste of the Grand Valley beyond the meeting room, from local food and wine to outdoor adventure, entrepreneurship, history, and golf. Each experience offers a chance to connect with fellow chamber professionals while exploring the people, places, and industries that shape our region.

Space is limited for many excursions, so we encourage attendees to register early and choose the experience that sounds most like their kind of Western Colorado.

**PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL EXCURSIONS. 


From Legacy to Launch: Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Grand Junction | $45 per person

Estimated start time of 12pm 

Discover a side of Grand Junction that connects entrepreneurship, innovation, and a fascinating piece of our region’s history.

We’ll begin at the Business Incubator Center with lunch featuring one of its own businesses. Over lunch, attendees will have an opportunity to meet local entrepreneurs and hear firsthand about starting and growing a business in Western Colorado.

Following lunch, we’ll tour the Business Incubator Center and learn how it supports entrepreneurs through workspace, mentorship, resources, and connections. We’ll also step inside the makerspace, where access to specialized tools, equipment, and technology helps entrepreneurs take ideas from concept to creation.

From there, we’ll make the short trip to the Atomic Legacy Cabin to explore another chapter of Grand Junction’s story. The interpretive center shares the region’s role in uranium mining and processing, its connection to the Manhattan Project and Cold War, and the legacy of an industry that had a significant impact on Western Colorado.

Together, the stops offer a unique look at where Grand Junction has been and where our entrepreneurial community is headed next.

Fruita Adventure: Pizza + Colorado National Monument | $65 per person

Estimated start time of 12pm

Experience a little of what makes Western Colorado special with an afternoon in Fruita, where local flavor meets some of the most spectacular scenery in the state.

We’ll depart from downtown Grand Junction with transportation provided and head to Fruita for lunch at Hot Tomato Pizzeria, a beloved local staple known for great pizza, a laid-back atmosphere, and plenty of Fruita personality.

After lunch, we’ll head into the Colorado National Monument for an easy, scenic hike designed to be approachable for a wide range of participants. Along the way, you’ll experience towering red rock formations, sweeping views of the Grand Valley, and the rugged landscape that makes this corner of Colorado unlike anywhere else.

It’s the perfect opportunity to get outside, connect with fellow conference attendees, and experience two local favorites in one afternoon.

Excursion Includes:

  • Round-trip transportation from downtown Grand Junction
  • Lunch at Hot Tomato Pizzeria in Fruita
  • Easy scenic hike in Colorado National Monument
  • Plenty of fresh air, incredible views, and Western Colorado hospitality

What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, water, sunscreen, and layers appropriate for the weather.


Palisade Wine Country by Horse-Drawn Carriage | $145 per person

Estimated start time of 12pm

Slow down and experience the heart of Palisade and the Grand Valley’s wine and fruit country from one of the best seats in the valley: a horse-drawn carriage.

We’ll depart from downtown Grand Junction with transportation provided and head to Palisade, where JR’s Carriage Service will take us on a four-hour journey along country roads winding through vineyards, orchards, and some of Western Colorado’s most beautiful agricultural landscapes.

Along the way, we’ll visit a selection of local wineries and tasting rooms, with our route customized for the group. Our knowledgeable guide will share stories about the area, its agriculture, and its history as we travel between stops at a relaxed Palisade pace.

We’ll have charcuterie and light bites to enjoy along the way, making this an easy afternoon of great wine, beautiful scenery, and even better conversation with fellow conference attendees.

Excursion Includes:

  • Round-trip transportation from downtown Grand Junction
  • Four-hour private horse-drawn carriage tour through Palisade
  • Visits to several local wineries and tasting rooms
  • Guided experience through Palisade’s vineyards and orchards
  • Charcuterie and light bites during the tour
  • Bottled water aboard the carriage

Please Note: Wine tastings are purchased separately at each location. Guests participating in tastings must be 21+ and bring a valid photo ID. Dress comfortably and in layers, as the tour includes both indoor and outdoor experiences.

Golf with a View: Redlands Mesa | $125 per person

Estimated start time of 12pm

Trade the conference room for the fairway and experience one of Western Colorado’s most spectacular golf settings.

Attendees will enjoy nine holes at the Golf Club at Redlands Mesa, consistently recognized among Colorado’s premier public courses. Set high above the Grand Valley, the course combines a challenging and memorable layout with incredible views of the Colorado National Monument, Grand Mesa, and surrounding red rock landscape.

Following the round, we’ll gather for lunch at the club, giving you time to relax, compare scorecards, and connect with fellow conference attendees while taking in a little more of the scenery.

Whether you’re playing for the score or simply looking for an excuse to spend a few hours on one of Colorado’s most beautiful courses, this is a great way to experience the Grand Valley.

  • Nine holes of golf at the Golf Club at Redlands Mesa
  • Golf cart
  • Lunch at the club
  • Incredible Grand Valley and Colorado National Monument views
