Mortgage Loan Officer -- Grand Valley Bank
Grand Valley Bank is looking to hire a full-time Mortgage Lender at our 7th St. branch, located at 925 N. 7th St. Grand Junction, CO 81501.
Mortgage Loan Officers are responsible for generating new loan production, evaluating loan applications, collecting and analyzing customer financial information, and navigating the entire loan process with the customer from origination through closing. Mortgage Loan Officers at Grand Valley Bank are expected to: represent the bank in its market area through relationship management and active participation in community affairs; originate mortgage loans in full compliance with the Bank's lending policy; maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state and local lending laws and regulations. All Loan Officers are expected to provide professional and courteous customer service while monitoring products, services, and rates to ensure that Grand Valley Bank stays competitive.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain a robust referral network of local realtors, developers, builders, and other related businesses in the market area
- Interview applicant(s) for residential mortgage business to determine qualifications and appropriate products
- Analyze applicant(s) financial history and acquire borrower's credit reports from major credit reporting bureaus; assess applicant's default risk and capacity to repay
- Prepare and present a lending package based on client specifications
- Assist customers with completion of mortgage applications; inspect for accuracy and thoroughness; ensure all compliance deadlines are met during the loan process
- Assess, grant, or reject mortgage applications based on predetermined requirements
- Coordinate processing of approved loans
- View or visit property for real estate purchase or refinance, if applicable
- Follow up with Mortgage Processors to ensure timely closing of the mortgage
- Review and maintain active loan portfolios; ensure files have proper documentation as outlined in policy and regulatory guidance
- Act as a collaborative resource within the Loan department
Applicants for this position should possess the following:
- Dynamic relationship management skills
- Knowledge of how to build and maintain a loan portfolio
- Excellent judgment
- Solid understanding of lending products and practices
- Loan underwriting and financial analysis experience
- Must be detail-oriented and compliance-minded
- Familiarity with computers, banking applications, and software
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and pivot on competing demands
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Professional attitude, appearance, and voice
- Articulate in both written and verbal communication
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Disciplined and accountable
Education and experience required
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, business, accounting, or related major is preferred
- Must have an active mortgage loan originator license in CO
- At least 5 years of experience in mortgage loan origination is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- May need to sit or stand for prolonged periods

COMPENSATION: Starting pay/salary is dependent upon relevant experience. All compensation offers are analyzed individually and consider multiple factors including but not limited to experience, skillset, and educational background.
