About

Community Hospital is an acute-care hospital, licensed for 60 beds. We are an independently owned hospital that serves the Grand Valley, the largest metropolitan area between Denver and Salt Lake City.

We pride ourselves in being a part of our community and being able to give back and meet the needs of our community in unique ways. Independent hospitals are pivotal in keeping competition in health care, creating access and ensuring affordability. As an independent hospital, we are able to be nimble and move quickly to help address the health care needs of our local community.

We have been able to address community needs; including adding multiple primary care providers, multiple specialists, adding clinics in areas that have been health care deserts for decades, and building an on-site early childhood education center. Additionally, we have partnered with our rural and frontier neighbors and their clinics and hospitals in many ways. Some of our innovative partnerships include sending providers to rural communities to provide surgeries, helping stand up operating rooms in their facilities, helping create rural nurse residency programs, and helping with workflow processes.

Providing safe and quality health care for our friends, families, and neighbors is the most important part of our mission. Through these innovations, creativity of our staff, and a supportive board, Community Hospital continues to grow and succeed as an independent, non-profit hospital in our community.

Community Hospital was voted Daily Sentinel’s Best of the West for Best Hospital for four consecutive years from 2016-2019 and again in 2021, 2022 and 2023. We are committed to ensuring Community Hospital remains a viable choice to receive care locally. We proudly continue to grow our service lines and invest in state-of-the-art equipment to better serve patients in our community and surrounding areas.

We recently invested in the da Vinci® Xi™ Surgical System which has further advanced the technology used at Community Hospital for minimally invasive surgeries. This past year, we opened a new pediatric therapy clinic as well as Grand Valley Primary Care – Palisade and Community Care of the Grand Valley – Palisade in partnership with the Town of Palisade and Community Hospital’s new early childhood education center: Adventure Academy, which opened in September 2023. We are honored to continue providing comprehensive medical and radiation oncology services in the new James Pulsipher Regional Cancer Center, which opened in the new Monument View Medical Plaza on January 15, 2024.
